# Four numbers to save after a timed Gaokao mathematics attempt

A final score does not show where a timed paper became difficult. Save four checkpoints instead: the time used after Question 12, the time used after Question 16, the number of written responses started, and the number completed.

The [2026 Shanghai mathematics practice paper](https://gaokaoexam.org/subjects/math/full-exams/2026-shanghai) contains 21 questions for 150 points under a 120-minute source limit. Questions 1–12 use exact answers, Questions 13–16 are single choice, and Questions 17–21 require written work. Those boundaries make useful pacing checkpoints.

Keep the first submitted responses unchanged. Add corrections in a separate review note. This preserves evidence about both mathematical reasoning and time management.
